How to Cook Rice for a Crowd |
The amount of rice you cook for 10
people depends on the portion size and whether rice is the main dish or a side
dish. Here's a guideline:
1. Main Dish:
Cook about 1 cup (180–200 grams) of
uncooked rice per person.
For 10 people: 10 cups (1.8–2 kg) of
uncooked rice.
2. Side Dish:
Cook about ½ cup (90–100 grams)** of
uncooked rice per person.
For 10 people: 5 cups (900 grams–1
kg) of uncooked rice.
Notes:
Uncooked rice doubles in volume once cooked. For instance, 1 cup of uncooked rice yields about 2 cups of cooked rice.
